Lukas Prokop

Lukas (プロコップ ルーカス) has a background in Computer Science (Graz University of Technology) and pursues a bachelor's degree in Mathematics. He loves programming and the Art of Computer Programming, but cannot follow Donald Knuth's articles because of a lack of Mathematics. That's why he studies Mathematics. He is also interested in typography and typesetting. He is especially concerned with Unicode and markup languages during his time in Japan.

He is a beginner in Japanese and attends amateur level classes. Because he cannot attend classes with classroom language Japanese, he completes his bachelor's thesis during his time even though he didn't finish his first two semester of Mathematics at University of Graz.

Martina (チェックル・マルティーナ) is a Mathematics student at Graz University of Technology. She got introduced to Japan after her first year in university as part of an agreement between her former Austrian school and a Japanese town. Martina already visited Japan two times before 2016. She studies Japanese for roughly 4 years. Her major has always been Mathematics and she finished her bachelor's degree before going to Japan in September 2016. In Japan she pursues her studies in Mathematics as a graduate student.

Besides university, she spends a lot of time at Volleyball courts and enjoys Anime/Manga. She met Lukas for the first time in an Aikido dojo.
